Rosh Chodesh Sivan

The Month of Sivan

" In the third month after the Israelites left Egypt—on the very day—they came to the Desert of Sinai. " (Exodus 19:1)

The month of Sivan, the third month and is one of the most important months of the year.  It is the month in which Yahweh gave to us the Torah.

" Count off seven weeks from the time you begin to put the sickle to the standing grain. Then celebrate the Feast of Weeks to Yahweh your Elohim by giving a freewill offering in proportion to the blessings Yahweh your Elohim has given you. Deuteronomy 16:9-10 "

Ultimately His Word would be expressed in three ways: Torah, Naviim and Katuvim and even the Baswar (Gospels or Full Message), Epistles or letter and the Revelation or Apocalypse to a threefold people: Kohanim, Leviim and Israelites.

The constellation of Sivan is teomim (Gemini--twins). The twins symbolize the two identical "tablets of the covenant" given to Moses.

The giving of the Torah to Israel is referred to as a "wedding" (between Yahweh and Israel). In the Song of Songs (5:2), the highest level of marriage is referred to as bride and groom being identical twins (tamati, which our sages read teomati).  Genesis 2:24

Ephesians 5:22-33

The opposite of union is division thus the archetypal twins of the Torah are the two brothers, Jacob and Esau, they were twins but not identical but opposites. In the two cubes of the covenant, the right cube addresses primarily the side of Jacob while the left cube addresses primarily the side of Esau ("Thou shall not murder; Thou shall not commit adultery; Thou shall not steal.?")  We are commanded to love Yahweh "with all of your heart"--"all our inclinations." By the power of the giving of the Torah on the month of Sivan, both of the twins can be rectified and become able to unite.

1 Corinthians. 13:4-13

It is the month of the Summer Harvest.

Yahshua said to them, "My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work.  Do you not say, "There are still four months and then comes the harvest'? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest!  And he who reaps receives wages, and gathers fruit for eternal life, that both he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together. (John 4:34-36 )"

It is mentioned in the Book of Esther as the date on which permission was given to the Jews to protect themselves.  Esther 8:9-12.    We have the right to defend ourselves.

“…we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of Yahweh, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Messiah.

(2 Corinthians 10:3-5)”

Yahweh is described by many warlike verses:

“Yahweh is a man of war Yahweh is His name. (Exodus 15:3)

“Who is the King of glory?  Yahweh strong and the warrior, Yahweh (a) warrior in war. (Psalm 24:8)”

“Who is this King of glory? Yahweh of armies, he is the King of glory. Selah. (Psalm 24:10)”

“You therefore, O Yahweh Mighty One of armies, Mighty One of Israel, rouse yourself to punish all the nations; show no mercy to wicked traitors. Selah. (Psalm 59:5)”

“Yahweh Tzeva'ot,” means “Yahweh of hosts” or more correctly “Yahweh of Armies.” We are soldiers in the Army of Yahweh.

“The Mighty One of the peace will soon crush haSatan under your feet. The grace of our Messiah YahShua be with you. (Romans 16:20)”

“See now that I myself am He! There is no Elohim besides me. I put to death and I bring to life, I have wounded and I will heal, and no one can deliver out of my hand. (Deuteronomy 32:38-40)”

Yahweh curses the wicked (Numbers 23:8) by sending curses (Deuteronomy 29:20); destroys them utterly (Joshua 11:20); smiting the earth with the rod of his mouth                    (Isaiah 11:4); using weapons of his indignation (Isaiah 13:5);opening up his armory (Jeremiah 50:25); bringing forth judgment unto victory (Matthew 12:20); bringing a great salvation (I Samuel 19:5); bringing a great victory (II Samuel 23:12); shall crush haSatan in vengeance to Genesis 3:15 (Romans 16:20);giving us the victory through our King Messiah Yahshua (I Corinthians 15:57); who spoiled principalities and powers (Colossians 2:15);destroying the works of the devil (I John 3:8);and all this is the victory that overcomes the world (I John 5:4).

HaSatan did not invent these curses. All true curses are imposed by Yahweh. These are judgments – charges – brought by Yahweh to penalize anyone for rebelling against His will as expressed in His Word - Torah. Gentiles do not like to say that Yahweh curses. However, the Scriptures says that no one can curse whom Yahweh has not cursed. (Numbers 23:8) If a person is cursed by Yahweh, then no one can bless them and reverse the curse unless the person repents and changes their ways and embraces the sovereignty of Yahweh motivated by remorse grounded in love. If Yahweh wants you afflicted, no one can deliver you:

“Then Elohim sent an evil spirit between Abimelech and the men of Shechem; and the men of Shechem dealt treacherously with Abimelech. (Judges 9:23)”

“…the Spirit of Yahweh departed from Sha’ul, and an evil spirit from Yahweh troubled him. (1 Samuel 16:14)”

“And it came to pass on the morrow, that the evil spirit from Elohim came upon Sha’ul, and he prophesied in the midst of the house: and David played with his hand, as at other times: and there was a javelin in Sha’ul's hand. (1 Samuel 18:10)”

When a person is blessed by Yahweh, then no curse imposed by angel or man will work against them.

"See, it is I who created the blacksmith who fans the coals into flame and forges a weapon fit for its work. And it is I who have created the destroyer to work havoc; no weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of Yahweh, and this is their vindication from me," declares Yahweh. (Isaiah 54:16-17)”

An Example of this is the Story of Ba’al Olam the Prophet to the World in Numbers 22-31. Balak (Empty), King of Moab, hired  Ba’al Olam (Balaam), the Midianite prophet, to curse Israel when they were journeying thru Moab. King Balak was afraid of Israel because he could physically see that Yahweh was with them and He was destroying their enemies. There was only one other man on earth that walked with Yahweh like that - Ba’al Olam the Prophet to the World – the Gentile version of Moses. King Balak hired Ba’al Olam to curse Israel to destroy that nation. But Yahweh told Ba’al Olam not to go but he apparently wanted the honor of serving the King’s court. Yahweh let Ba’al Olam go but he cursed himself in going. Ba’al Olam could not curse Israel because they were following Yahweh. He actually ended up blessing Israel by prophesying about Messiah and cursing Moab.

"I see him, but not now; I behold him, but not near. A star will come out of Jacob; a scepter will rise out of Israel. He will crush the foreheads of Moab, the skulls of all the sons of Sheth (or all the noisy boasters). Edom will be conquered; Seir, his enemy, will be conquered, but Israel will grow strong. (Numbers 24:17, 18)”

Knowing they were going through a pagan land influenced by evil Israel should have been in a constant state of “deliverance” by “practicing the Presence” which is “walking in the Spirit.”

Ba’al Olam counseled King Balak to be effective you got to get Israel to sin. Israel is blessed when they obey and cursed when they disobey Yahweh. Israel then committed sexual sins and idolatry with the women of Moab. They cursed themselves by disobeying Yahweh. The wrath of Yahweh descended on Israel. Israel repents and is restored to at-one-ment with Yahweh. Finally, the Midianites are defeated and Ba’al Olam is killed.

So here we see the Law of Blessing & Cursing at work. Israel is blessed because they are at one “echad” with Yahweh as expressed by loving obedience. Ba’al Olam is powerless to curse them. Israel curses themselves by idolatry. Yahweh sends judgment on Israel. Israel repents and is reconciled to Yahweh. And the Enemy is destroyed. Ba’al Olam the Prophet to the World – the Moses of the Gentiles – falls because of “lust” and does not repent cursing himself and is later killed.

“Do not be deceived: Yahweh cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers. (Galatians 6:7-10)”

Sivan" isn't actually a Hebrew word. Its Assyrian word means "to mark" or "to appoint".

We have a divine appointment: "...this Full Messianic Message of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world for a testimony unto all the nations; and then shall the end come. (Matthew 24:14)"
